Josephine was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish and the former Sacred Heart Church in West Fitchburg. Her love of God and the Blessed Virgin Mary helped her through life’s challenges.

She enjoyed her summer home in East Falmouth (Cape Cod) and her many camping trips with her family throughout the East Coast.  She made lifelong friends with other campers from as far away as Quebec, Canada.  Her many creative talents included her passion for crocheting afghans for all her family and friends, wedding cake decorating, and Italian cooking (from main dishes to her many cookies and pastries) and coordinating Aiesi family gatherings.

Known as “Tootsie” by family and friends a name that her father affectionately gave her.  She had an amazing presence and brought out the best in people.  For 40 years, she enjoyed playing poker with her close-knit Italian girlfriends on Monday nights.

The town of Pietraperzia, central Sicily, Italy was always mentioned as her father’s treasured family roots and her catholic faith, love, and honor of its principle patron the Madonna Della Cava and her belief in its miracle was constantly evident.

Josephine loved her family immensely, using daily phone calls and text messaging to keep track of her family and friends.  Her thoughtfulness and annual ritual of sending anniversary, birthday & Christmas cards to over 100 family members and friends will be sadly missed. She was generous, loving, and had a caring heart that will never be forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to a “Celebration of Life” and Mass to be held at St. Joseph’s Church, 49 Woodland St. Fitchburg, MA, on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11:00am.  Condolences to family will be held 10:15am to 10:45am in the church vestibule prior to the mass, reception to follow.  A private burial will take place at St. Bernard’s Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers the family suggest a donation in her memory may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 33 Lyman St. Westboro, MA. 01581 or a charity of your choice.
