OBITUARY NOTICE :   Fitchburg:  Rene A. Primeau 79 of Fitchburg, MA. passed away Monday November 7, 2016 in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, MA. due to complications following a sudden heart attack. His family was at his side.
He was born Rene Alfred Primaeu September 28,1937 in Fitchburg, MA., son of Edmond and Isabelle (Proulx) Primeau and was affectionately known to his family as “Pepe”.
He was raised in Fitchburg, MA. and lived there all of his life. He attended and graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1956.
Rene worked for the former Foster Grant Sunglass Co. in Leomisnter, MA. for thirty years and was also employed  at James River Paper in Pepperell, MA. and Munjsko Papre in Fitchburg, MA. before his retirement.
Pepe loved relaxing in his favorite chair to watch Notre Dame football, the Patriots, and Red Sox. He also enjoyed cooking lunch for all of his family every Sunday. He enjoyed feeding the many different birds that would frequent his yard and he loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Annette L.(Fleming) Primeau, his children, Rene E. Primeau and wife Kimberly , Brian O. Primeau and wife Brenda , James A. Primeau and wife Kristen, Jon A. Primeau and wife Leslie, Marie A Primeau ,and Amy L Wilder,  his brother Julien Primeau and wife Beverly, grandchildren, Bobby, Adam, Alaina, Nicholas, Ian, Isabel, Eric, Hannah, Erin, Timothy, Evangeline, Sarah, Holly, Benjamin, and Alex, one great granddaughter, and several nephews and nieces. He was pre-deceased by his brothers Ovide, Albert, Norman, and Louis.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday November 16, 2016 with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church 81 Sheridan St. Fitchburg,MA., all are welcome to attend. Inurnment will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Montachusett Opportunity Council , 62 Normandy Rd. Fitchburg, MA. 01420.
