Frederick was born in Lynn, MA on Sept 10, 1936 to his late parents Edith (Jones) and Frederick Stenuis. He was married to the love of his life Maureen L. (Barkhouse) Stenuis for over 65 years.

Fred graduated from Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1953 and Northeastern University, Chemical Engineering, Class of 1958. He completed his military service first as an active member of the University ROTC program, followed by Officer’s Training in the Army (Fort Benning, GA, Fort Monmouth, NJ, and Fort Devens, MA) from 1957-1959. He achieved the rank of 2nd LT Stenuis, Communications Specialist. Upon honorable discharge, Fred continued his employment at Borden Chemical Company, which he began in the Northeastern Co-Op Program and he continued to work there for over 25 years. During this work tenure, he catalogued numerous engineering patents for the company and was published in several Chemical Engineering Journals.

Fred and Maureen soon settled in Lunenburg, MA and he spent the next 40 plus years growing his family and actively participating in town and state politics, coaching and supporting all of his children’s athletic/artistic activities, playing in the men’s old timers hockey league, and watching Boston Bruins games. Most especially, Fred led the folk group at St. Boniface Church for nearly 20 of those Lunenburg years. And together, Fred and Maureen became leaders in the Christian Marriage Encounter world.

Fred’s love of travel paled only to his love for Maureen, her cooking,& his family, in that order. If you asked him where heaven was, he'd say in Aruba.
