William "Bill" Boudreau Obituary

William (Bill) Boudreau was a blessing to anyone he came in contact with, spreading his joyous energy and sociable spirit. He was born in Fitchburg in 1946, the son of Emery and Florence (Gagne) Boudreau and has been a proud Fitchburg resident ever since. A loyal employee to Aubuchon Hardware for 38 years and worked his way up to Head Shipper.  He was also a proud member of St. Joe’s Social Club for 52 years along with many members of his family.

Bill met the love of his life, Claire, while she was also working at Aubuchon Hardware, and they spent 55 years happily married. Bill is survived by his wife Claire (Cormier) Boudreau, his children, Jeffrey Boudreau and his wife Karla of Westminster, Lynn Thomas and her husband Jeffrey of Fitchburg, and Julianne (Julie) Donald and her husband Ken of Rochester, NH., his siblings Robert Boudreau and his wife Delores of Leominster, and Carol Fournier and her husband Roger of Fitchburg. He was also survived by the loves of his life, his seven grandchildren, Kevin Boudreau and his wife Natasha, Abigail Boudreau, Connor Thomas, Sophia Thomas, Lillian Thomas, Kayla Donald, and Shane Donald, and his great grandson, Aiden Boudreau.

Though Bill loved his work, his passion was his family. In particular, Bill spent the late part of his life attending sporting events, chorus concerts, and graduation ceremonies for his grandchildren. Any event he could attend for his family, he would be there with love and support. He loved spending time with his family and friends at Yankeeland Campground in Kennebunk, Maine, where they spent every summer for 32 years and developed some lifelong friendships. Along with all the friends he made along the way, he was still very close to his Brother (Robert) and Sister (Carol) and their spouses, creating many memories together.

Bill’s family would like to thank Dr. Carolyn Ho and the Doctors and Staff at the Watkins Cardiovascular Clinic at Brigham and Women’s Hospital for their care for him over the last 25 years.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the Brigham and Women’s Watkins Cardiovascular Clinic at the link below or the Alzheimer’s Association of America as that disease has affected Bill’s family in a profound way at the link below.
