OBITUARY NOTICE
Fitchburg: Anita J. (Richard) Pouliot 92, passed away quietly on Saturday July 28,2018 at The Highlands in Fitchburg.
She was born in Fitchburg, MA June 26, 1926 , the daughter of Edward and Anna (LeBlanc) Richard. Anita worked many years as a cafeteria worker in the Fitchburg Public School system, retiring in 1992. Her leisure time was spent on hobbies such as basket weaving, cake decorating, knitting, candy making, and baking for family and friends. She also enjoyed reading a good book or playing cards on a Saturday night. Anita and her husband enjoyed many vacations traveling to the Carribean islands and many European countries. One of her favorite road trips was visiting Pennsylvania Dutch country.
She was a devoted parishioner at the former Immaculate Conception Church until its closing in 2010.
Anita is survived by two daughters and a son: Jeanne Kilpatrick and husband David of Westminster, MA, and Michelle Burns and husband Michael of Westminster, MA, and John Pouliot and wife Sondra of SanDiego, CA, one grandson, Matthew Despres and wife Lisa and two great-grandchildren, Brody and Kayla of Hubbardston, MA. She a is also survived by her brother Gerard Richard of Fitchburg, MA, and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband of fifty-five years Raymond Pouliot who passed away in 2003, three sisters, Eileen Richard, Sarah Sendowski, and Teresa Guazzo, and two brothers, Rudy Richard and Walter Richard.
She will be remembered mostly as a loving daughter, friend, sister,wife , mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Her funeral service and burial will be private at the request of her family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to : Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
