                                             OBITUARY  NOTICE

Fitchburg:  Claude J. Vaillancourt  77 of Fitchburg , MA passed away peacefully in Leominster Hospital Thursday October 17,2019. His family was at his side.

He was born January 16, 1942 in Coaticook, Quebec son of Joseph and Eloza (Poulin)  Vaillancourt .and came to the United States in 1961. He has lived in Fitchburg , MA since 1997.

Claude loved traveling to Canada to visit his family and enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his wife Annette. He loved to have large family gatherings in the summer for barbeque and fellowship. He and his wife had spent the last fifteen years  wintering in Florida, which he most enjoyed.

Claude worked many years for the Local 4  International Union of Operating Engineers before he retired.

He leaves his wife of 22 years Annette L. (St. Denis) Vaillancourt, his son Claude J. Vaillancourt Jr. of Muskegon, Michigan, his daughter Lisa Vaillancourt of Plaistow, NH , step-children, Gary Dupuis of Ashburnham,MA, Marissa Desilets of Winchendon, MA, and Shawn Dupuis of Fitchburg, MA. his sister Yvette Rousseau in Ottawa, Canada, three grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and 4 step- great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Roland, and sisters Jeannine Viens and Doris Davis.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday morning, October 21,2019 from 9:30 until 10:45a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11a.m. All relatives and friends are welcome to attend. Burial at a later date will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fitchburg.
