Fitchburg: Clifford R. “Dick” Schultz 89 of Fitchburg, MA passed away Wednesday June 13, 2018 in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital with his family at his side.
He was born August 22, 1928 in Fitchburg, MA, son of Bernard and Catherine (Kennedy) Schultz and lived all of his life in Fitchburg. Dick attended and graduated from Fitchburg High School Class of 1949. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during WW2 and was honorably discharged. Dick worked at the former Fitchburg Paper Co. for forty-eight years and served as the Union Steward. He retired in 1997.
Dick was a member of the Recreation club in Fitchburg, MA, he also served as an usher at St. Bernards’s church. He enjoyed playing cards , was an avid sports fan, and liked playing Keno at his granddaughters restaurant Legends Bar& Grill. He was a communicant of St. Bernard’s Parish.
He is survived by his children , Judith Saunders of Philadelphia, PA, Katherine Lee of Leominster, MA, Richard “Dickie” Schultz and wife Denise of Fitchburg, MA, step-children, Kathleen Schultz and husband Michael of Fitchburg, MA, Maryann Bracani and husband Michael of Milford , N.H., Christine Chace and husband Guy of Fitchburg, MA, and Robert Preeper of Fitchburg, MA, his sister Ann Bywaters in Florida, eighteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife of thirty-two years, Virginia P. (Baillargeon) Schultz in 2012 and brothers Bernard and Edward Schultz,and a sister Ellen Quirk in 2012
His funeral will be held on Monday June 18, 2018 with a Mass @ 11 a.m. in St. Bernard Parish @ St. Camillus De Lellis Church 333 Mechanic St. Fitchburg. Interment will be at a later date. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday morning from 9 until 10:30a.m.
