Devan Paul Glenny
Loving son, brother and grandson, 28
Fitchburg - Devan P. Glenny, 28, of Fitchburg, left us too soon on Sunday, January 14, 2018. He was born on July 28, 1989 in Worcester MA. Devan was the son of Kyle Glenny and Joyce (Rocca) Maynard and lived in Fitchburg all of his life. He was a graduate of Fitchburg High School Class of 2007. While in high school, Devan was a standout runner for both the FHS Cross Country and Track teams for four years. After high school he attended Fitchburg State University and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 2013.
Devan began his own landscaping business and has been successful with it since the age of 14. He put his heart, sweat and pride into Glenny Landscaping and through that business he has so many lasting friendships and loyal customers.
He is survived by his mother Joyce (Rocca) and husband Martin Maynard of Fitchburg, MA. His father Kyle Glenny of Westminster, MA, twin brother David Glenny, wife Sarah and children Savannah and Brayden of Gardner, MA. He is also survived by his big brother Nathan Glenny, Kristin and Madison Glover of Fitchburg, MA. He leaves his best friend and grandfather Adolph Rocca of Fitchburg, MA, along with many dear aunts , uncles and cousins. He also leaves the love of his life, Kelsey Parmenter and his puppy and companion, Layla.
He is predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Claire (Smith) Rocca, and his paternal grandparents, Paul and Pauline (Allen) Glenny and his uncle Allen Glenny, of Fitchburg.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Lavery Chartrand Alario Funeral Home, 99 Summer Street, Fitchburg MA. There are no calling hours. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1:00 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 81 Sheridan St, Fitchburg MA and all are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation in Devan's memory to the FHS Cross Country and Track Fund. Checks payable to FHS Athletic Dept can be mailed to 140 ArnHow Farm Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420.
