OBITUARY NOTICE
Fitchburg: Edward P. “Ed” Dolan, 93 of Fitchburg , MA. passed away peacefully Thursday January 4, in the Highlands.
He was born March 7, 1924 in Fitchburg, MA. son of Edward P. and Cora B. (Amiott ) Dolan and lived all of his life in Fitchburg. In 1943 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during WW2. He participated in the European African Middle Eastern Theatre, and was honorably discharged in 1946.
Ed worked at inside sales for Simonds Saw & Steel for 38 years retiring in 1984. He had a true passion for the game of golf, which led him to open his own golf service, Pro Golfers Service which he operated for over 20 years.. He also enjoyed woodworking and making furniture for his family. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion Post #429 in Fitchburg, MA.
He is survived by his daughter Patricia Minko and husband David of Townsend MA., grandson Michael B. Paradis and wife Sara, step-grandson Brett Paradise, his Godson, Ric Grogan and nephew Brian Grogan. He was predeceased by his wife Mary T. (Grogan) Dolan , and his sister Beatrice in 1922.
A funeral home service will be held on Thursday, January 11,2018 at 10:30 am in the funeral home. A calling hour will be prior to the service from 9:30 until 10:30a.m.. All are welcome to attend. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
