Fitchburg-Mary M. Bedard, 101 of Fitchburg died Sunday December 23, 2018 in the Sterling Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sterling. Mary was born in Fitchburg November 15, 1917 daughter of Phillipe and Angeline (Babineau) Doiron. She had worked for Fitchburg Yarn Co for many years and retired from the Independent Lock Co, where she had worked for 15 years until its closing. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, belonged to the Ladies of Fatima and the Daughters of Isabella. Mary enjoyed bowling, Bingo, crocheting and was a prolific reader.
She was the wife of the late Henry Bedard. She leaves 2 sons; Eugene and his wife Annaliese Bedard of Gardner and Paul and his wife Beverly Bedard of Leominster, her daughter Louise and her husband Roger Abell of Fitchburg, 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters; Exilma, Rita, Matilda and Edna and her brothers; Joseph, Leandre, Hervey and Augustave.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00am in St. Joseph Church, 49 Woodland St. Fitchburg. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Fitchburg. Calling hours will be held Friday, December 28th from 4 until 6pm in the Lavery, Chartrand and Alario Funeral Home, 99 Summer St. Fitchburg.
