Leominster : MaryEllen (Roach) Hare Chartrand 59 of Leominster, MA passed away peacefully Friday March 23,2018 in the Lahey Clinic , Burlington, MA surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 11, 1958 in Brighton,MA daughter of Joseph and Josephine “Dolly” ( Pellegrini) Roach. She lived most of her life in Leominster,MA and was a graduate of Leominster High School Class of 1976. She then attended Fitchburg State University. MaryEllen worked as a service representative for Babineau Insurance Co. of Fitchburg, MA for ten years and also worked for Sentury Insurance Co. and Fitchburg Savings Bank (now Rollstone Bank & Trust) in Fitchburg, MA.
MaryEllen was a former Scout Master for Cub Scout Pak 38 in Leominster, MA. She most enjoyed spending many summers at Cape Cod ,where she and her husband Dick were married, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She attended Holy Family of Nazareth Church in Leominster.
Her family would like to give a special thank you the Nurses and Doctor’s at the Lahey Clinic for their compassionate care she received while there as a patient.
She is survived by her husband Richard “Dick” Chartrand , her two sons, Matthew Hare of Barre, MA, Patrick Hare of Worcester, MA, and their father and former husband Douglas Hare of Leominster, MA, twin sisters Janet Guzman and Janice McGrath both of Leominster, MA, and Shelly Cormier of Fitchburg, MA, her mother Josephine “Dolly” Roach ,grandchildren, Tyler, Alyssa, Mason, Sydney, and James, step-children, Maura Chellis and husband Michael of Leominster, MA, Katie Chartrand of Fitchburg, MA, Brian Chartrand and wife Lindsey of Leominster, MA, and Danny Chartrand and wife Kelly of Leominster, MA, two aunts one uncle, several nieces and nephews and several close friends.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday April 3,2018 with a Mass at 10a.m. in Holy Family of Nazareth Church, 750 Union St. Leominster, MA. Interment will follow in Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery- Winchendon, MA. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday evening from 6 until 8p.m. Inlieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Donate Life New England, 60 First Ave. Waltham, MA. 02451.
