OBITUARY NOTICE
Ashby: Robert M. Stewart 70 of Ashby passed away peacefully at his residence Sunday February 11,2018, with his family at his side.
He was born April 20, 1947 in Groton, MA. son of the late Victor and Rosella (Leintagne) Stewart. He was raised in Fitchburg, MA. and was a graduate of Fitchburg High School Class of 1965. In May of 1966 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served as a Weapons Control System Mechanic in the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged in 1970.
Bob worked as a pressman for Bates Corrugated Box and for NEBS, retiring several years ago due to illness. He loved being at home and loved the land he lived on in Ashby for so many years.
He is survived by his wife Diana E. (Shepherd) Stewart, daughter’s, Kristina M. Dantini and husband Michael of Leominster, MA., and Karen V. Stewart and fiancé Brian Cote of Ashby,MA., his grandson Trenton M. Cote, his brother Victor Stewart of East Hampton, CT. and his buddy Sundae.
His family would like to give special thanks to the staff at DiVita Dialysis for their compassionate care given to him during his illness.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6 until 8p.m. All are welcome to attend. Interment with Military Honors, will be held in the spring in Glenwood Cemetery , Ashby, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Health Alliance Home Health and Hospice, 60 Memorial Dr. Leominster, MA. 01453.
