OBITUARY NOTICE : Susan P. (Dower) Jackman, 72 of Fitchburg, MA. passed away peacefully July 13,2017 in Leominster Crossings, with her family at her side.
She was born June 1, 1945 in Fitchburg, MA.. daughter of James and Genevieve (Riendeau) Dower. She lived in Fitchburg most of her life. She attended and graduated from St. Bernard’s Central Catholic High School Class of 1963.
Susan worked as a secretary for the City of Fitchburg School Dept. over 20 years. She also worked at the City Clerk Office in Fitchburg, and served as past president of the Retirement board for the city. She retired in 2005.
Susan truly loved her being with her children and their spouses, and her grandchildren. She cherished the family gatherings during the Christmas holiday. She also enjoyed her trips to Florida, and her trip to Ireland with Lee and spending many wonderful days with her family in Maine.
Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the CNA at Leominster Crossing, and to the VNA Hospice of Worcester for their compassionate care.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lee H. Jackman, her son, Leon “Jack” Jackman ll, and wife Rebecca of Fitchburg, MA., daughters, Cynthia J Clark and husband Thomas of Fitchburg, MA., Stephanie Jackman-Havey and husband Thomas of Leominster, MA., and Christine Posco- Mattson and husband Mark of Fitchburg, MA., her beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Courtney, Spenser, Connor and Joseph, all of her nephews and nieces from the Gaetz and Dower families and her “ Grand-dog,Bindi.” She was predeceased by her siblings Edward Dower, Patricia Dower and Irene Dower.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday July 21,2017 @ 11a.m. in Our Lady of The Lake Church 1400 Main St. Leominster, MA. All relatives and friends are welcome to attend. There are no Calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League. 139 Holden St. Worcester, MA. 01606.
