Vincenzo Salamone

Fitchburg-Vincenzo Salamone, 84 of Fitchburg died August 13, 2018 at The Life Care Center of Leominster surrounded by his loving family.

Vincenzo was born on Nov. 27, 1933 in Pietraperzia, Sicily, son of Filippo and Damiana (Russo) Salamone. Vincenzo came to the United States from Sicily in 1960. He worked for the H.MargolinCo. for 25 years and the Fabric Place for 10 years.He was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Church.  He also enjoyed being a part of thePietraperzia Club, going hunting and gardening.  Vincenzo was happiest around his family and celebrating with everyone at family functions. He was truly a devoted family man.

Vincenzo leaves his wife of 59 years, Grace (Grazia) Salamone and their children,Domiana (Diane) Catallozzi and her husband Michael of Lancaster, MA, Filippo (Phil) Salamone and his wife Mary of Norwood, MA. He was predeceased by his son, Salvatore Salamone.  Vincenzo also leaves his sister, Giuseppina Salamone of Milan, Italy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 17, 2018 at 11 am at St Anthony de Padua Church,84 Salem St. Fitchburg. Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday evening, August 16, 2018 from 4pm until 7pm at the Lavery, Chartrand and Alario Funeral Home, 99 Summer St. Fitchburg.
