William L. White
Lifelong resident of Fitchburg; 76

William Lee White, 76 years old, of Fitchburg passed away on Tuesday January 2, 2018 in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his wife of 25 years and great love, Katherine Mary (Kelly) White in 1990. Lee was born in Fitchburg on March 23, 1941, son of Leo F. and Helen (McKinney) White and was a lifelong resident of Fitchburg. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1960. He served in the Army National Guard Yankee Division and served at Ford Dix New Jersey during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Lee received a “Sharpshooter” Marksmanship Badge from the United States Army.
He worked for the City of Fitchburg for over 30 years; working in the Cemetery Department and then the Water Department as a Meter Reader. Lee volunteered for the Fitchburg Police Department as part of the Citizens on Patrol.  
He is survived by his loving daughters, Kimberly Primeau and her husband Rene and Kelly Caban and her husband John. He leaves his four grandchildren, whom he was so proud of; Alaina Primeau and her fiancéDavid Ptak, Nicholas Primeau, Kayla Caban, and Nicole Caban. He leaves his brother-in-law Thomas Kelly III, and his wife Joanne and his sister-in-law Judith Lamb Nixon. He also leaves three nieces,two nephews along with one grandniece and three grandnephews.
Lee enjoyed working out at Global Fitness, walking the tread mill and lifting weights, also tooling around on his John Deere Lawn Mower and spending time with his family and friends at Old Orchard Beach Maine.
Lee’s family would like to thank the staff at Health Alliance Leominster Hospital Emergency and Medical Surgical Departments especially RN’s Lori, Ally, Amanda, and Stellah. Dr. Abhijeet Patil and support staff for their outstanding care.
A funeral home service will be  held  on Tuesday January 9, 2018 at 10a.m. . Interment will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 9 until 10a.m. All are welcome to attend.  At the family’s request In lieu of flowers, donations  in memory of Lee and Kay may be made to : The American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St.  Framingham, MA. 01701.
