Adam Cairns Obituary

Adam  D. Cairns 54, of Fitchburg, MA passed away peacefully on October 10,2023. He was born on December 24,1968 in Fitchburg, MA the son of Sarah (Griffin) Cairns and the late Robert Cairns. Even though he was born in Fitchburg, Adam comes from a Scottish background. His father came from Aberdeen and his mother Sarah, from Greenock, Scotland.. His grandparents, Adam Griffin and Susannah (McNicol)  Griffin  now deceased, came from Greenock, Scotland.

Adam leaves behind his loving and cherished mother Sarah,and his sister, Heather Cairns. He was uncle to Brandon Cairns, Kayla Cairns, Dennis Cairns, Bruce Chevalier, and great uncle to Ross Goyette, Savannah Cairns, Evangeline Cairns, Arianna Santos, and Leilani Marquez. Very much a family man, he tried to be there for them when he cold. He also leaves his loving fiancee Marsha Morse. He was a dear and loving Godosn to Annie DeMartino and longtime friend of Al Partridge. In Scotland, Adam was the beloved nephew of Adam Griffin (Now deceased) and his wife, Margaret, and his mum's sister, Margaret.

Adam was educated in Fitchburg and graduated with High Honors from Fitchburg, High School where he played football at the school. He also played basketball for Assembly of God Church on Ashby State Rd. until he got injured and was not able to ply any longer.

In his working career her was a professional mover for Bolio & Sargent Moving and Storage Inc and then for Fitton Moving and Storage Inc. Over the years, Adam became a spokesperson for the Homeless as a member of the Consumer Advisory Board @ Action, he befriended those in the addiction and alcoholic community, was the "GoTo" man for information on where to go for help , assistance, food pantry's , meals, and any other programmes that were available to them. He was also a loved member of The Hope Center. In later years Adam found God and had great faith, he had become friends with Fr. Dolan of St. Bernard Parish , worchipping at St. Camillue DE Lellis Church.

In lieu of flowers consider making a donation in Adam's memory to The Saint Vincent De Paul society  at St. Joseph's Church or Our Father's Table on Boutelle St. or to a charity of your choice.

Calling hours are on Monday October 16,2023 at the funeral home from 11a.m until 1p.m. followed by a prayer service All are welcome to attend
