Alice M. McNally (Bourque) of Townsend passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, October 5, 2024. She was 88 years old.
Alice was born on March 21, 1936 in Fitchburg to Frank and Bibian (LeBlanc) Bourque. Growing up, Alice lived in Cleghorn and went to St. Bernard’s Catholic High School.
Alice met Francis McNally in 1952 while working at Margolin’s. The two married in 1954 and had three daughters: Louise, Gail, and Dianna (“Nina”). The family lived in Fitchburg until settling down in Townsend where Alice lived for the rest of her life. She worked at Friendly’s and as a medical billing secretary for many years.
Alice loved spending time at the Townsend Senior Center where she was actively involved in the knitting group. She loved arts and crafts and enjoyed painting, drawing, wood carving, knitting, and crocheting. She loved watching movies, playing video games with her grandchildren, trips to Old Orchard Beach in Maine, and spending time with her entire family. She will be deeply missed.
Alice is survived by three daughters: Louise Rameau of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Gail Mariano (Sid) of Fitchburg, and Dianna (“Nina”) Malone (John) of Winchendon; siblings in-law, Larry (Jeanne), Norman (Norma), and Ricky (Lori); sisters-in-law Rayanne and Debbie, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Alice was predeceased by her husband of 68 years Francis McNally, her parents Frank and Bibian, her sister Lora, her brother-in-law Dick, and her son-in-law Willie.
Funeral services for Alice will be held on Thursday, October 10 with a viewing from 9:30 AM-10:30 AM at Lavery Chartrand Alario Funeral Home followed by Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard Parish at St. Camillus De Lellis Church 333 Mechanic Street, Fitchburg, MA Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Alice may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association.
