Obituary Notice
Leominster: Ann J. Bissonnette, (Lamothe), passed away peacefully at home on February 21,2023.
She was born on March 15, 1941, the daughter of Arthur D. and Regina K. (Fournier) Lamothe. She is survived by her two children, David R. Bissonnette Jr. and his wife Janice (Ahearn) of Leominster, MA, and Kristen Richford also of Leominster, MA. , her grandchildren, James, Samuel, and Michael Bissonnette , Rayna Richford and numerous nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her husband David R. Bissonnette Sr. and siblings Kathryn Cote, Arthur & John Lamothe.
Ann grew up in Leominster, MA, attending St. Leo’s Elementary &St. Bernard’s High School where she met her husband David. They were married in October of 1960. She was an active volunteer in Leominster and Fitchburg, MA supporting Our Father’s Table, The Spanish American Center in Leominster,MA, Friends of the Library, Ginny’s Helping Hand, and St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry at St. Leo’s. She was a member (80Years), a Eucharistic Minister for over 40 years at St. Leo’s Parish, where she also chaired many school bazaars, craft fairs, was a catechism teacher for over 20 years, and served several terms and the PTO President in the late 80’s. she Co-Directed the Firl Scout Camp in Fitchburg also in the late 80’s, was a member for over 40 years of the Ladies auxiliary Eagles FOE#477, and she was a Eucharistic Minister volunteer of UMASS Healthcare, Leominster Campus for over a decade.
She was an avid crafter, theologian, “wannabe” Dr. , loved spending time with her family and friends, and could set up for any event at a moment’s notice from the trunk of her Cadillac. Ann and David spent many weekend vacations & conventions with their friends from the Eagles FOE #477, Knights of Columbus Council#99 and Eastwood club.
Her career started when she turned her love of sewing into becoming the local then Regional Manager for Piece Goods Shop for several years, then for over 35 years she co-owned Wachusett Seat cover with her late husband, she was a food tester at BJ’ & until her retirement just before the pandemic, she was an office assistant at the Spanish American Center in Leominster.
There will be no services held, and a celebration of her life is planned for late spring/early summer. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in her name to:
