Fitchburg: Annette Lola (Fleming) Primeau, 84 of Fitchburg passed away peacefully in UMass Memorial Healthcare, University Campus, Worcester, after complications from a brief illness.
She was born Annette Lola Fleming on July 26,1939 in Springfield, MA, the daughter of Harry James Fleming and Leona (Dineen) Fleming. She was affectionately known to her large family as Mimi.
She lived in Fitchburg most of her life and was a graduate of Fitchburg High School Class of 1957 and Mount Wachusett Community College. She married Rene Alfred Primeau of Fitchburg on May 30, 1958 to whom she remained married for fifty-eight years until his passing in 2016. Mrs. Primeau worked at Asher Pants, KMart, Rich's, Foster Grant and NEC computers. After retiring Mimi loved spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as painting, quilting, gardening, and reading. Annette always had her basset hound mix Leia by her side. She was an avid supporter and patron of the Fitchburg Public Library.
She is survived by her children, Marie A. Primeau, Rene E. Primeau and his wife Kimberly, Brian O. Primeau and his wife Brenda, James A. Primeau and his wife Kristen, Jon A. Primeau and his wife Leslie and Amy L. Wilder, her brothers Mark and Bernard Fleming and sisters, Patricia, Dorothy, Kathleen, and Phyllis, her grandchildren, Bobby, Adam, Alaina, Nicholas, Ian, Isabel, Eric, Hannah, Erin, Timothy, Evangeline, Sarah, Holly, Benjamin, and Alex. Two great grandsons, Connor Ptak, and Lincoln Wilder and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret and brother Walter.
Service for Mimi will be held on Monday, January 29,2024 with a calling hour at the funeral home from 10 until 11a.m. followed by a funeral home service to begin at 11a.m. All relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
