Claire Bragg Jacques Obituary

Claire M (Wonkka) Bragg, Jacques  93, died peacefully with family by her side on the morning of October 13, 2025 at the Highlands in Fitchburg.

Claire is predeceased by her first husband of 30 years Hubert S Bragg and their daughter Patricia Bragg, second husband of 22 years, Albert F Jacques, her brother George R Wonkka Sr, her sister Anita Aura, and her beloved dog, Teddy. She is the daughter of George E Wonkka and Claire Langlois. She was born on June 7th, 1932 in Fitchburg. She is survived by her sons Steven Bragg and his wife Patty of Ashburnham, Michael Bragg and his wife Mindy of Fitchburg ,daughters Debra Cutter and her husband John of Willlimantic, CT and Cynthia Grealis and her husband Joseph of Clinton, stepdaughters Patricia Burkhart and her husband Roy of Arlington TX, Linda Buckley and her husband Robert of Fitchburg, 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Claire was a sharp dresser and always carried herself like a true lady. She enjoyed playing the organ, painting, needlepoint and various arts and crafts. Several of her pieces are proudly hung in her children's homes. She made a delicious Spanish pot roast and a terrific apple pie. She enjoyed an occasional pastry. Claire loved interior decorating and is known to have moved more furniture than a large moving company! In her later years she enjoyed regular visits from her devoted children and grandchildren. She spent her last 9 months at the Highlands where she was lovingly cared for by the nurses and staff, which we greatly appreciate. She was happy there and loved the nurses and the staff as well as her friends, or as she would call them, "her girls"'.

A Graveside service for Claire will be held on Saturday, October 25,2025 @ 11a.m. in St. Bernard Cemetery and all are welcome to attend. There are no calling hours.
