Concetta “Connie” Babineau
Concetta (Lauricella) Babineau passed away on November 12, 2023, at the Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, just 11 days short of her 97th birthday. Connie was born in Fitchburg, MA on November 23, 1926, the daughter of Luigi and Michelina Lauricella.She is survived by her five sons, Laurie Babineau Jr. and his wife Gail of Athol, David Babineau and his wife Donna of Westminster, Martin Babineau of Leominster, Mark Babineau of Worcester, and Scott Babineau and his partner Tracy Arsenault of Ashby. Connie is also survived by her sister-in-law Nancy Babineau of Fitchburg, 14 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Connie was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, in 1998, Laurie Babineau Sr., and by three of her sons, Michael J. Babineau, Michael G. Babineau, and Ronald Babineau. She was also predeceased by all six of her siblings.
Connie’s family meant everything to her. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was happiest when her loved ones were gathered together for family festivities. Over the years, Connie traveled extensively in order to help some of her children living out of state, including travel to Florida, Colorado, Virginia, New Jersey, and overseas to Italy. She made many sacrifices, always putting family first.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Gardner, MA specifically the loving and devoted nurses in South 1 and the dedicated Activities staff that provided lots of fun and attention to Connie.
Calling hours will be held at the Lavery, Chartrand Alario Funeral Home, 99 Summer Street, Fitchburg, MA, on Thursday, November 16,2023 from 9:30 to 11:00AM. Interment will follow at 11:30AM in the Pieta' Chapel in St. Joseph's Cemetery, 486 Clarendon Street, Fitchburg, MA. All of Connie’s relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
