Constance Marie Perron

June 4, 1942 – April 21, 2024

Constance Marie Perron, 81 of Fitchburg died on Sunday April 21, 2024 at the Highlands surrounded by her loved ones. She was born June 4,1942, in Minnesota the daughter of the late Dorothy (Dishaw) and Hans Toumala. 

In 1960 she joined the Army and served for 2 years. It was there that she met her late husband Robert Perron. When they finished their tour in 1962 they settled in Massachusetts to raise their own family and to be near Robert's family.

In 1977 she joined the  Massachusetts National Guard and served for 8 years.

She took a Real Estate course in 1980 that enabled became a Licensed Real Estate Broker. She was very proud of this license and renewed it regularly.  The license was an asset to the partnership she later had with her son, Steven, with the purchase of several apartment buildings.

Constance started her post High School studies at Mount Wachusett Community College and graduated Phi Theta Kappa with an Associate degree in Human Services - Criminal Justice in 1985. She continued her studies at Fitchburg State College and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1987.

She worked in the Human Services field at a variety of different programs, such as, the Herbert Lipton Community Mental Health Center, Minute Man Association For Retarded Citizens, Inc., as a program director,case manager, crisis team worker, house manager, and life skills educator. 

Constance enjoyed sewing and quilting. She also enjoyed antique shopping and was an avid collector of books, teacups, dishes, glass figurines, lamps, beanie babies, etc.  One of her favorite collections was her fairies, which she often received as gifts from her son Paul.

She leaves behind one brother, Larry Toumala, and was predeceased by two sisters, Lynn Clark and Phyllis Palvio, 2 brothers John Toumala and Paul Toumala, and her son Raymond Perron. Constance leaves behind her sons, Paul Perron and his wife Tammy Perron, Steven Perron and his wife Dawn Perron, and her daughter Robin Wead,  seven grandchildren, Joshua Perron,  Kyle Catabia, Kory Catabia, Ryan Perron, Amanda Laclair, Krisandra Wead and Phillip Wead.  She also leaves six great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Tylar, Kameron, Naomi, Henry and Ethan.

Calling hours for Constance will be held on Wednesday, May 8,2024  from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be on Thursday, May 9,2024 in Massachusetts Veteran’s Cemetery, 111 Gleallen St. Winchendon, MA at 10a.m.. All relatives and friends are welcome to attend
