Deborah A. Jones passed away peacefully on January 28, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Leominster MA on May 24,1959, a daughter of the late Leo J. LeBlanc and late Irene E.(Morcaldi) LeBlanc. She is survived by husband Kenneth P, Jones of Fitchburg, daughter Sara(Jeffrey) and husband John Bator,and granddaughter Hannah B. Bator all of Peabody, MA
Debbie was a graduate of Fitchburg High School, class of 1977. Following high school she worked for the, then, Fitchburg Savings Bank, starting as a teller and then becoming a branch manager. She left the bank when diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
After leaving the bank she became active in her community as a member of the Fitchburg Disability Commission and Civic Days Committee.
She battled Multiple Sclerosis for forty years. Her diagnosis progressed and challenged her to learn to write again and eventually becoming primarily wheelchair bound. Her challenges became her strengths. During all of this time, she maintained her sense of humor and love of family and friends. She could be seen in the local area pushed in her purple wheelchair by her husband Ken.
Debbie, enjoyed the Red Sox, WooSox, and especially the Boston Bruins,cruises, theater,concerts, time with her family Ken, Sara, John and especially her granddaughter Hannah.
Services for Deb will be held on Friday, February 2,2024 with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Church, 49 Woodland St. Fitchburg @ 11a.m. Interment will follow in Massachusetts Veteran's Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St. , Winchendon, MA @ 1p.m. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening, February 1,2024 from 6 until 8 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
