 Fitchburg:   Diane M. Babineau, 70 of Fitchburg, MA passed away peacefully on October 20,2021 in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital with her family  at her side.

She was born July 6, 1951 in Fitchburg, MA the daughter of Joseph J. and Amy  (LaCoss)  Babineau. She lived most of her life in Fitchburg and for the last several years with her mother Amy, whom she cared for until she passed away in July of 2021. Diane was a free spirited girl, she worked at many things throughout her life. She was a long hauler truck driver delivering product to the Alasken Pipe Line for several years, and she spent time living in Florida before returning to Massachusetts. In 1983 Diane went to work as a dispatcher for the Townsend Police Dept. for 33 years, retiring in 2016. She enjoyed Tole painting, animals, especially dogs and cats, all types of outdoor activities, crocheting and quilting.

She is survived by her three brothers, James J. Babineau and his wife Nancy of Rindge, N,H , Brian A. Babineau and his wife Jennifer of Leominster, MA and Joel F. Babineau and his wife Dawn of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, one niece, Jessica Woodward ,a nephew, Jacob J. Babineau, great nieces and nephews, Caroline and Oliver Woodward and Piper and Landon Babineau.

She was predeceased recently by her mother Amy (LaCoss) Babineau in July of 2021 and her father, Joseph J. Babineau in 2009.

A calling hour will be held on Friday October 29,2021 in the funeral home from 10 until 11a.m. followed by a graveside service in St. Bernard Cemetery.
