Diane Marie Trainque
March 10,1950 - June 21,2025
On Saturday , June 21,2025, Diane Marie Trainque went home to God peacefully in her sleep at Sunrise of Leominster,MA. She was the daughter of Willie M.Trainque and Marie E. (Ledoux) Trainque.
Diane was a graduate of St. Bernard Central Catholic High School and received her undergraduate degree in Math from worcester State University. Her first work experience, after graduation , was at the Wallace Civic Center Planetarium in fitchburg, preparing shows for school children and the local community. From there she moved to East Lansing, Michigan where she taught Astronomy at the Waverly School District K-12 Planetarium. she also studied and taught astronomy and planetarium science at Michigan State.
Her love for the stars led her to be the finalist for the State of Michigan in NASA's Teacher in Space Program.
While in Michigan ,she became involved with local teacher unions which led her to her future career a contract negotiator for the National Education Association.She accepted a position in Oregon and spent the rest of her work career negotiating contracts across the state of Oregon. she thoroughly enjoyed her work helping teachers and students with an improved educational experience.
Diane especially enjoyed being with people and meeting new challenges. She love her family and spent at least six weeks around the holidays every year, celebrating Christmas and the New Year. she would save all her accumulated days off to do so.
Another of her many interest was her love of pets. She was a longtime volunteer with the Oregon Humane society.
Upon retirement, her adventurous spirit led her to take a four month cruise around the world. She was totally fascinated by the cultures she encountered, especially in the arts, music and traditions of the people.
Diane was predeceased by her brothers, Lionel, Raymond, and robert and her sister Laurie Maynard.
She is survived by her sister Carol Trainque, her sister - in-laws, Rita Trainque, and Donna Trainque and several nieces and nephews.
Diane loved the world around her and strove to make it a better place for everyone. We love her and miss her dearly. Thank you diane for being such a loving part of our lives

He Funeral Mass is on Monday, June 30,2025 with a Mass at 10:30a.m. in Our Lady of The Lake Church, 140 Main St. Leominster, MA . A calling hour will be held at the church prior to the Mass beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Interment will follow after the Mass in St. Joseph's Cemetery, 486 clarendon St. Fitchburg, MA all friends and relatives are welcome to attend.
