Obituary
Leominster: Ernest R. LeClair, 89 of Leominster, MA passed away peacefully at his residence on January 1,2022 with his wife Frieda at his side.
He was born in Fitchburg, MA on September 11,1932 the son of Leo and Genevieve (Vaillancourt) LeClair. He was raised in Fitchburg, MA. and lived there many years. He and his wife Frieda have lived in Leominster, MA since 1962. Ernie’s working career spanned over 44 years. He worked at the former Digital Equipment Corp. / Hewlet Packard before his retirement over 30 years ago.
He served in the Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954.
Ernie loved his sports, he enjoyed scuba diving , skiing, hockey , and most of all playing golf. Ernie was a “Jack of all trades”, helpful to anybody who needed a helping hand or advice and always with a smile.
He leaves his wife Frieda (Jirkal) LeClair , his brother Bernard LeClair of Westminster, MA, and several nieces , and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother s, Francis LeClair of Fitchburg, and Leo LeClair of Leominster.
His family would like to give a special thank you the VNA Hospice of Worcester for the heartfelt care given to Ernie.
A funeral Mass for Ernie will be held on Saturday, January 8,2022 @ 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Church 1400 Main St. Leominster, MA with Interment and Military Honors to follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Fitchburg. Calling hours are on Friday, January 7,2022 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. All are welcome to attend. A mask is suggested.
