LAVERY CHARTRAND ALARIO FUNERAL HOME 99 SUMMER ST. FITCHBURG, MA Obituary Fitchburg: Flora A. Cormier (Bourgeois) 104, passed away peacefully in Life Care Center of Leominster, MA with her family at her side. She was born in New Brunswick , Canada February 7, 1918 the daughter of Denis and Elsie ( Arsenault) Bourgeois. She had lived in Fitchburg most of her life. Flora had been a stitcher for Comfort Slipper and was part of the kitchen staff at Reingold School for many years before her retirement, but raising her children and taking care of her family was the most important part of her life. She is survived by her son Paul H. Cormier and his wife Pauline of Sterling, MA, a grandson Adam and his wife Amanda Cormier and their son Max in Conway , MA, one cousin, Madeleine Melanson and her husband Francis of Fitchburg, MA, members of the Medlinskas/ Meichniewicz families, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years , Joseph A. Cormier in 1994, her son Denis J. Cormier in 2015, siblings, Adrian, Henry, and Mary, and her best friend for 92 years , Ada Richards in 2015. A Funeral service will be held at the Pieta Chapel in St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Thursday, April 21,2022 @ 10:30 a.m. with private burial to follow . All are invited to attend.
