Francis W. Boivin, Sr, 88
Francis W. Boivin Sr, 88 of 28 The Clearing Street, Lunenburg rejoined the love of his life in eternal rest Friday, March 1.
He was born August 9, 1935, Son of Frank and Bessie (Allen). He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church of Fitchburg for which he was an altar server and later became a member of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Leominster.
Francis led an exemplary life of hard work as a glazer for City Plate Glass and Bessette & Sons Glass most of his life before he retired in 1997. He was a member of the South End National Club and the South Fitchburg Hunting and Fishing Club of which he was the secretary for many years.
Francis was a lifelong Boston sports fan. You could always find him watching a game when it was on. He and wife were host campers at Salisbury State Park and traveled the country, most notably Alaska & Hawaii and many State Parks.
He enjoyed tending to his garden and was dedicated to his children and later his grandchildren and was a constant presence in their lives whether it be watching their many sporting activities, band concerts, competitions or recitals.
Left to cherish memories and hold them in their hearts are his six children Roger (Kimberly), David (Laura), Gerald (Teresa), Sandra (Douglas), Francis Jr./Butch (Terri) and Terri (Gregg), 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren with a third due in September, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Janet in 2020, his parents and siblings.
A funeral Mass for Francis will be celebrated on Saturday, March 16,2024 @ 10 a.m. in Our Lady of The Lake Church, 1400 Main St. Leominster, MA. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 15,2024 at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. All friends and relatives are welcome to attend.
