 Gardner:  Irene E. Lemay (Lagasse), 96, of Gardener, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol , MA  .

She was born March 2, 1925 in Lowell, MA , the daughter of Thomas and Roseann (LaBrie) Lagasse. She was raised in Townsend, MA and also resided in many local communities over the years. Many years of her life were devoted as a stay at home mother to her two sons, Ronald A. Lemay, who predeceased her, and John B. Lemay who survives her. She also leaves two grandchildren, Jared B. Lemay, and Lindsey A. (Lemay) Kennan and her husband James. Irene is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Irene was very devoted to her faith, and in her spare time enjoyed gardening, sewing, and spending time by the pool , and her home in Florida.

Our family wishes to thank all that helped in her care during the last few years, and a special thanks to the staff at Quabbin Valley Healthcare for the excellent care and attention Irene received over the last 16 months. We appreciate the compassion and care that was extended to her.

Services for Irene will be held on Friday, August 27,2021 at 11:30a.m. in the funeral home. Calling hours will be from 9:30 until 11:15a.m. and her service will begin at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
