Jeanette T. Petrullo, 97, of Fitchburg, MA, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025.
Jeanette was born on September 2, 1927, in Fitchburg, MA, to Cora and Frank Holman. She grew up in Fitchburg and enjoyed a nearly fifty-year career in retail with the F.W. Woolworth Company.
She was predeceased by her devoted husband of forty years, John, as well as her sister, Gertrude, and her brother, Maurice. Jeanette was also predeceased by her longtime companion, Wendell Doe.
Jeanette loved traveling, playing cards and bingo, and always treasured time spent with her many friends and her beloved family. A devoted parishioner of St. Bernard’s Church, she found joy in both her faith and her community, was part of a card group at the St. Francis Senior Center and served as president of the Fitchburg Booster Club. She never missed a chance to cheer on the Boston Red Sox or the New England Patriots. She was also known for her memorable one-liners and pearls of wisdom, which continue to bring smiles and lessons to her family and friends.
She leaves behind her beloved children, Linda Monette and her husband, Jimmy; John Petrullo and his wife, Kathy; and Lorie Petrucci and her husband, David. She was the proud grandmother of Lisa, Shelly, James, Mandy, Anthony, Alaina, Maria, Kristina, Beth, and David; the cherished great-grandmother of twenty-six; and the beloved great-great-grandmother of two.
Jeanette will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and community, and she will always be remembered for her laughter and her radiant smile.
A Funeral Mass for Jeannette will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 @ 11a.m. at St. Bernard Parish in St. Camillus De Lellis Church, 333 Mechanic St. Fitchburg, MA. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home prior to the Mass on Thursday, from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Jeanette’s life.
