Joseph W. DeMartino Jr.

Hubbardston: Joseph William DeMartino Jr., 64, of Hubbardston, MA, passed away on January 21, 2025. Born February 5, 1960, he was the eldest son of the late Joseph and Nancy (Messina) DeMartino of Fitchburg, MA.

Joseph was a proud business owner, always his own boss, known for his meticulous attention to detail. At his core, he was a kind, sensitive, and loving soul, deeply cherished by family and friends. He had a passion for world history and a special place in his heart for animals, particularly the many dogs he rescued and cared for, providing a second lease on life to a long list of grateful animals. His humor and undeniable presence will be profoundly missed.

Joseph is survived by his siblings, Sharon Xarras, Karen Occhipinti, and John DeMartino. 

An open house Celebration of Life will be held on February 1, 2025 at the home of his sister, Karen Occhipinti, 27 Hobbs Rd, Princeton, MA, from 3:00-6:00 PM. Family and Joseph’s friends are invited to join in honoring his memory. 

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to a local animal shelter of your choice.
