Date of Death: Jul 7, 2025
Today, we gather in love and remembrance to honor the life of a truly extraordinary woman—Julita Rosso Charles.
Born on January 9, 1933, in Cayey, Puerto Rico, to parents Ignacio Rosso and Juanita Charles. Julita's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with strength, kindness, and creativity. She had a gift for lighting up any room with her joy, her sharp wit, and her ever-welcoming spirit. If you ever sat with her long enough, you likely left with a smile—maybe even a new joke to share. Humor was her way of connecting, healing, and showing love.
Julita was, above all, resilient. Through life's many trials, she remained strong and grounded, always facing challenges with grace and determination. She welcomed people into her life and her home with open arms, making everyone feel like family. Her extroverted nature meant she never met a stranger—only friends she hadn’t yet made.
Creativity poured from her hands. She found joy and peace in crafting decoupage and crocheting, turning simple materials into works of love. Every stitch, every design was an expression of her vibrant soul.
She was the proud mother of Wanda, Jeanette, and Jesus Martinez—three lives shaped by her strength, humor, and love. Her legacy continued through her grandchildren: Jorge Alexis Gonzalez, Jorge Alejandro Gonzalez, Damarys Rivera, Juan Adancito Rivera, Juan Manuel Rivera, Iliana Martinez, and Omar Martinez—and further through her great-grandchildren: Yadiel, Alondra, Kevin, Julienette, Geodanys, Juan Manuel Jr., and Jariana. Julita now joins Jesus Martinez Colon, her husband and beloved soulmate.
Julita's love reached across five generations, leaving a lasting mark on even her great-great-grandchildren: Evalee, Lilianette, and Masimo. Each of them carries a spark of her light, a piece of her strength, and a whisper of her laughter.
As we say goodbye, we hold on to the memories of her stories, her crafts, her laughter, and her love. Julita Rosso Charles was not just a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother—she was the heart of our family. Eternally, her spirit lives on in us.
May she rest in peace, surrounded by the joy and beauty she so effortlessly brought to this world.
