                                                        Obituary

Leominster:  June M. (DesChenes) Rhodes, 95 of Leominster, MA and formerly of Fitchburg, MA, passed away peacefully at her residence Saturday, February 6,2021.

June was born May 3, 1925 in Fitchburg, MA daughter of Joseph and Louise (Coutch) DesChenes and lived in Fitchburg most of her life. She attended and graduated from Fitchburg High School Class of 1942.

June worked for many years in the accounting department for the former Safety Fund National Bank in Fitchburg  retiring in 1991. She was also a member of the Friends of the Fitchburg Senior Center. June loved going to the Senior Center on Wednesdays and being a part of the Closet Boutique where they sold homemade items to help benefit the Senior Center and she also enjoyed playing cards with a group from the Senior Center.

She is survived by her niece Lisa Bramante who took care of June the past several years, her nephew Peter Bramante and her sister Betty Roemer in Florida. She also leaves her nephews Mark, Paul, and John along with several other nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, William J. Rhodes in 1985 and her son William J. Rhodes III in 2013. She was also predeceased by her sister Jackie Heikkila in May of 2019

A funeral service for June will be held on Friday ,February 12,2021 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Friday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. All are welcome to attend. All Covid-19 protocols are in effect. A mask is required to enter the funeral home. The Lavery Chartrand    Alario Funeral Home 99 Summer St. is directing.
