Kassiani Simeonidis

Kassiani Simeonidis passed away peacefully on the evening of June 10th at the age of 87. She spent her last few days at home, surrounded by family. 

She was born in 1938 in Chrysi, Pella, Greece, where her parents settled after emigrating from Pontus. In 1981, Kassiani and her husband, Panagiotis, emigrated to the United States in search of new opportunities for their family. They first settled in Worcester before eventually making their home in Fitchburg, where they became beloved members of the local community.

Kassiani was known for her generosity, sense of humor, and ability to make those around her smile. She was always willing to help others and formed lasting friendships wherever she went. She loved to sing, dance, and joke around with family and friends, often bringing laughter to even the simplest moments. In her later years, she faced the challenges of dementia, but she never lost the warmth, humor, and lighthearted spirit that drew people to her throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband, Panagiotis; her daughter, Irene; her son, George; and her grandchildren, Kassie and Yianni.

The memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church (1319 Main St, Fitchburg) on Monday, June 15, at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing beginning one hour earlier at 10a.m.. A reception will follow the burial at 1:30 p.m. at Anna's Table (16 Brooks Pond Rd, Leominster).
