Lawrence Amblo Obituary

Lawrence Arthur Amblo was born in Fitchburg on August 27th 1965 and unexpectedly passed away on November 4th, 2025. He was a 1984 graduate of Fitchburg High School. Larry was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran. His time in the Marine Corps instilled in him a lifelong commitment to service, discipline, and excellence, qualities he carried into every aspect of his life. He was a devoted Corrections Officer for 30 years where he earned the respect of colleagues for his professionalism, leadership, and dedication to his work.

Larry was a member of the Fitchburg Weightlifting Club for many years, where his love for bodybuilding grew, motivating him to compete in local competitions.  He dedicated countless hours to training and self-improvement. This determination was recognized when he won the Mr. Hudson title, reflecting both his competitive spirit and his perseverance.

Hockey was another central part of Larry’s life. He spent countless years coaching and mentoring multiple young athletes, for Twin City Youth Hockey, inspiring them with his knowledge, discipline, and encouragement. He took pride in helping others grow and in giving back to the community, leaving a lasting impression on those he taught and guided.

Larry is survived by his sons — Stephen, Michael, and Eric Amblo — and by their mother Heather Renda whom he was married to for thirty years.

He also leaves behind his mother Elizabeth Amblo, his brother David Amblo and his sister Amy Mahoney and her husband Patrick Mahoney, and his nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father Peter Amblo.
