Linda Ann (Van Luven) Caron, 65, of Fitchburg, MA passed away suddenly in her home on Friday, November 12, 2021.
Linda was born in Fitchburg, MA on November 9, 1956, the daughter of Hearshell F. Van Luven and Mary (Bourque) Van Luven Kittredge. Linda attended and graduated from Fitchburg High School Class of 1975. After graduation, she spent time at West Winds Club House where she received multiple awards for outstanding services. She also worked for a short period of time at Pack and Post.
In her childhood years, Linda enjoyed summers spent at “the camp” on White’s Pond and swimming with her siblings and many cousins. She spent time making crafts and playing games with her family. In later years, she stayed active by walking several miles around her community daily. She enjoyed frequenting Burger King, Hannaford, K Mart, Bob’s clothing store, SubWay, and Rollstone Bank and Trust. She loved being a life long resident of Fitchburg and walking its streets on a daily basis. Because of this, she was widely known amongst the businesses that she frequented. Linda was a devoted Boston Bruins fan and rarely missed watching a hockey game on tv.
Linda’s family members were very important to her and she often kept track of their schedules on her calendar as well as her own. Her family could always count on her to call and ask how they were doing. In many ways, she was the one who kept all of her family members connected since she knew everyone’s schedules. Many friends and family often enjoyed the opportunity to offer her rides as needed, which she often turned down preferring to walk.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Caron) Tramontozzi, her sister in law Vivienne Van Luven, her brother in law, William Deery, seven nieces and nephews, and 10 great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Hearshell “Van” Van Luven, her mother Mary ( Bourque) Van Luven Kittredge, her brother Hearshell R. Van Luven, and her sister Ann Marie Deery.
Linda will be dearly missed by her family, her neighbors, and many others in the community who had the special opportunity to know her. We will miss her phone calls just to say hi or to ask how we are doing. We will miss hearing her voice and her explanations of the world through her eyes which frequently put smiles on our faces.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, at St. Bernard Parish in St. Camillus Catholic Church, 333 Mechanic Street Fitchburg MA , beginning with a calling hour at 10:00 am, in the church, followed by a Mass at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. All friends and relatives are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), by mail: NAMI, PO Box 49104, Baltimore, MD 21297, by phone: 1-888-999-NAMI(6264), online: https://namimass.org.
