Linda J. (Plante) McMaster

Linda J. (Plante) McMaster 70 of Fitchburg, MA passed away peacefully in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital on Saturday , June 17,2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Fitchburg, MA September 12,1952, the daughter of James and Betty (Marston) Plante and lived in Fitchburg all of her life.

She is survived by her husband Gary McMaster of Fitchburg, MA, her daughter. Jennifer Nash and husband Brian  of Oak Grove,KY, her son , James McMaste and wife Gabrielle of Lunenburg, MA, step-sons, Richard McMaster and wife Deborah of Mansfield, MA, and Paul McMaster of Florida, her sister Sandra Plante of Fitchburg, MA, eight grandchildren and her beloved dog , Jasper.

She was predeceased by her two sons, Jason cormier in 2018 and Jeremy cormier in 2023.

Linda enjoyed making friends on facebook, playing Farmville and bingo online, and watching medical dramas on TV.

Linda was a beautiful, kind soul who touched everyone that she met. She loved her family and all of her friends, especially the whalom neighborhood where we spent most of our time. Linda always babysat all of the neighborhood kids and she was considered to be the mom of the neighborhood. Linda always kept up spirits even through all of her ailments and illness the last fifteen years, she always had a positive outlook and somehow always managed to make all of us laugh. She never gave up.

Linda was the strongest woman that we all knew, she was a fighter and she fought hard every day of her life. She loved to volunteer at all of the youth sports and run the snack bar, making the food including her famous chili that everyone raved about. She loved to bake and cook for all of the kids, she made sure no one was ever hungry in her home.

Linda was our rock, she was always the one to go to whenever we had a problem and she always knew the right things to say to make everything alright. There was nothing that a hug from Linda couldn’t fix. Though we will miss her dearly every day of our lives, we know that she will always be watching over us, smiling from above at what a good job she did. We love her to the stars and back, she was the most amazing wife and mother that anyone could ever ask for. Linda was the epitome of love and care and she showed us that every day of her life.

Services for Linda will be held Thursday, June 29,2023, with calling hours at the funeral home from 6 until 8.m. All friends and relatives are welcome to attend.
