Ruel (Girouard) ,93 of Fitchburg, MA passed away peacefully Sunday March 27,2022 in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital. She was born July 18,1928 in Fitchburg, MA, the daughter of Elias and Flora (Maillet) Girouard and lived all of her life in Fitchburg. She attended and graduated from Fitchburg High School Class of 1946 and was a Gold F recipient which she was very proud of. Lucille worked for over 30 years as head clerk for the retirement board for the City of Fitchburg, retiring several years ago. She along with her late husband Francis loved to travel visiting many states and countries . She was a longtime member of the Friendship Club in Fitchburg and was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Fitchburg. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa M. Foley and her husband Jamie of Ashburnham, MA ,five grandchildren, Erin Moriarty, Matthew Foley, Allyson Foley, Julia Scott, and Carson Ruel , five great grandchildren, Jack, Hugo, and Francis, Luca, Shaeli , and her companion for the last 20 years, Edward Belliveau. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years Francis J. Ruel, and her son, John F. Ruel in 2019. Her funeral service was private at the request of her family. There were no calling hours.
