Margaret Madeline Bujold
Born in Fitchburg on January 4, 1955 to Elizabeth (Keenan) and John Burke, Peggy spent her younger years on Clifton Street with her four sisters and two brothers, along with numerous cousins. She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1973. There, she met the love of her life, Ronald R. Bujold (previously deceased). They built a beautiful life and home together in Westminster, welcoming three children: Rony, Robert John, and Margaux, as she called them.
Peggy showed up for everyone, and you could always count on her. After completing nursing school, she fittingly went on to a long career as a hospice nurse, where she brought comfort to countless families in their loved ones’ final days.
Peggy lived by her mantra “Happiness, Happiness,” and she truly meant it. She brought joy to everyone around her. Whether it be a night out listening to live music, surprising someone on their birthday, or embarking on an epic trip to Ireland, she was always up for an adventure with family and friends. Peggy followed the Red Sox religiously, grooved to James Taylor, cooked memorable meals for the holidays, and loved her game shows — especially Family Feud.
One of Peggy’s greatest joys was being grandmother to Evie, Marcus, and Burke. She showed them the beauty of Sea Street Beach in Dennis and frolicked with them in the waves. She found joy in the smaller moments as well, from rocking them to sleep as babies to pulling them around in a wagon and watching them perform in the living room.
Peggy leaves behind her three children: Ronald II & Laura Bujold of Sherborn, Robert Bujold & Dannielle Moore of Westminster, and Margaux Bujold & Jordan Keller of Louisiana; and her three grandchildren: Marcus, Burke, and Evelyn. She is also survived by siblings Nancy & David Ingemie of Virginia, Jane Leamy of Mashpee, Maureen & Tom Morin of Princeton, Elizabeth Burke of Fitchburg, John & April Burke of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Jim & Michelle Burke of Amherst, NH; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
Peggy passed under the loving care of her former hospice team, and loving friends, at Health Alliance in Leominster. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to UMASS Memorial Home Health and Hospice at https://hahhh.org/index.php/giving/#contribute.
