Marilou Ashbrook Cosgrove Crohan, 90, passed away January 8, 2023, at Leominster Rehab.
Born Septmber 13,1932, in Chicago, Illinois to Louis D. Ashbrook and Marian (Brynside)Ashbrook. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia L. (Cosgrove)Cringan and son, Donald B. Cosgrove, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Marilou resided in Fitchburg and Leominster since moving here in1952. She graduated from Quinsigamond Community College as well as Burbank Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. She had many interests and talents. She was an accomplished musician, playing the piano, clarinet and bassoon. In the 1960’s, she played bassoon for the Fitchburg, Leominster Civic Symphony. She learned how to ski and was a ski instructor and was a member of the National Ski Patrolat Wachusett Mountain. In the 1990’s sheadded running to her list of interests and she joined the North Medford Running Club and ran many races until 2018. She also enjoyed sewing, reading,long distance swimming and genealogy research.
Marilou was predeceased by her husband, Richard F. Crohan, in 1990.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff and nurses at Leominster Rehab and also the loving care she received from Brookhaven Hospice.
