                                              Obituary Notice

                 Fitchburg:  Mark K. Hawthorne passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2023 at his residence.

Mark was born on March 24, 1958, at Burbank Hospital the youngest child of the late Joseph R. and Anne (Dunleavy) Hawthorne. Mark grew up in Fitchburg, MA, attended Fitchburg High School and Fitchburg State University. He later served in the U.S. Air Force from 1978 until 1982. He then went on to work as a drywall and plasterer which he did for many years.

He is survived by his family who loved him dearly and will miss him forever, his sisters, Mary J. Foley and husband Peter, and Brenda A. Santucci and husband Ron both of Leominster, MA , and Anne F. Smith and husband Frank of Arlington, TX. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Mary Hawthorne of Shirley, MA, several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and one great  grand nephew.   He was Godfather to Cara L. (Krysill) Tirella, Jillian (Santucci) Marrone, and Bob Smith.

He also leaves behind his wonderful caring friends, Jim and Laurie Vaillancourt. He was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas in 1992, and Joseph in 2018 , his sister Ellen in 1955 and his beloved nephew Christopher J. Krysill in 2000

A funeral service will be held on Monday June 19, 2023 in the funeral home at 11a.m.. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 10 until 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
