Mark (Chooch) Leger

Fitchburg: Mark “Chooch” Leger,65 of Fitchburg passed away peacefully Tuesday December 14,2021 at his residence with all of his family at his side.

He was born in Fitchburg, MA the son of the late Aime and Mary Ruth (Courtemanche) and lived in Fitchburg all of his life. He attended and graduated from Fitchburg High School Class of 1975. Mark worked at the former Wachusett Potato Chip Plant (now Utz) for over 30 years as a plant manager and retired due to health concerns.

Mark enjoyed playing softball, going bowling, and going fishing for many years. He loved to go on family vacations to the White Mountains, York Beach, Maine, and Florida to see his granddaughter and visit Disney. He was a New England sports fan and would watch the games with his son and brother. Mark enjoyed taking care of his yard and took great pride in his newly seeded grass. On Saturdays, Mark enjoyed spending his morning at a local diner for breakfast with friends, and in the evening having a beer his brother at the Gaz Bar. Mark had a passion for listening to music and would enjoy sharing music .He is survived by his children, Katie Leger with whom he lived, and Dan Leger and wife Nokiang of Cape  Coral , Florida, his brother and best friend, Gary Leger and his wife Barbara. One granddaughter Alayna Leger his nieces Amy Merlot and  Megan Leger and several cousins aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his wife , Kathleen (Aho) Leger, his sister, Susan Selinga and niece Cheryl.

Calling hours are on Tuesday December 21,2021 from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Funeral service will be on Wednesday December 22,2021 at  the funeral home @ 10aa.m. . Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Ashby , MA  all friends and relatives are welcome to attend.
