Fitchburg:  Martha J. Daneault   (Burlton), 74, of Fitchburg, MA passed away on Thursday ,September 30,2021 in UMass Medical Center Worcester, MA.

Martha was born in Fitchburg, MA on January 3, 1947 the daughter of Ralph and Mary (Hickey) Burlton . She was raised in Fitchburg, MA and was a graduate of Fitchburg High School Class of 1964.  She then attended the former Burbank Hospital School of Nursing and graduated  in 1967 as a registered nurse.

Her nursing career spanned over 37 years. She was the first appointed administrator for the Diocese of Fall River Nursing Home. Her nursing career was mostly spent on the south shore. She retired from nursing in 2007.

Martha always enjoyed giving back to her community and she did so by volunteering at local food pantry’s and offered rides to senior citizens so they could get to their medical appointments. She attended AA meetings and was a proud and loyal friend of Bill W for over 40 years. 

She is survived by her son John L. Daneault and his wife Ashley of Shelton, CT, her brother James Burlton and his partner Pauline  McDonnel of Largo , Florida her sister Patricia Drolette and husband Kenneth of Taunton, MA, her grandchildren Natalie, Connor, and Mackenzie along with nieces and nephews .

Funeral services for Martha will be held on Friday, October 8,2021 with  a Mass @ 10a.m. in St. Bernard Parish @ St. Camillus Church 333 Mechanic St. Fitchburg, MA . Inurnment will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery .  All relatives and friends are welcome to attend the Mass. There are no calling hours.
