Mary Morizzo - Obituary
Mary Morizzo, 99 of Leominster, died peacefully in her home on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
Mary was born in Fitchburg on June 19, 1926, daughter of the late Oreste and Carmela (Giammarino) Guglielmi. She was a long time Fitchburg resident, moving to Leominster 14 years ago. She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1944 where she was a Gold F student and a member of the Fitchburg High School Marching Band.
Mary worked for the New England Telephone Company for 38 years.
She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Mary was a woman of deep faith and a member of St. Anthony Parish in Fitchburg and a member of the St Anthony Sparkling Seniors and the St Anthony Women’s Guild. She also made Baptismal Bibs and beaded rosaries.
She also volunteered at Burbank Hospital and Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster for 25 years.
Mary leaves her daughter, Catherine E. and her husband Edward N. Haddad Jr. of Worcester; son, Paul L. Morizzo of Leominster; grandchildren Matthew N. Haddad and his wife Jenna, Alexis C. Matera and her husband Tom; Michael P. Morizzo and his wife Jacklyn; Nicholas P. Morizzo; step grandchildren Alexis King and her husband Davin and Ashley Berry; greatgrandchildren Mia, Lucas and Leanna Morizzo, Kayla and Leah Haddad and Jack Matera; step grand children Josh, Jacob, Ariana and Kaeden King; a brother in law Aldo J. Mazzaferro Sr. and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Louis of 62 years; an infant son John; an infant daughter Barbara; sisters Lena Pandiscio, Anna Mazzaferro, her twin sister Helen Marrella O’Connor and her daughter in law Susan P. Morizzo.
Mary enjoyed spending time with family, walking, baking, playing cards, board games and chess.
The family would like to thank Benchmark Leominster Crossings staff and residents for their love and support. Also the staff of Health Alliance Home Health and Hospice and Personal Palliative Care/ Worcester Home Care for their care and support over the last two months.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Anthony Parish or Benchmark Leominster Crossings Staff Holiday Fund or Health Alliance Home Health and Hospice.
A Funeral Mass for Mary will be held on Thursday, August 7,2025, @ 11a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church ,84 Salem St. Fitchburg, MA
Interment will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
A calling hour for Mary will be held on Thursday morning at the funeral home from 9 until 10:30 a.m. and all are invited to attend.
