Mary Romano Obituary

Mary Romano was born in Fitchburg Massachusetts to Vincenzo DiPerri and Rosaria Aiesi. She attended Fitchburg High School class of 1948. She worked, for many years, at Peter Pan Restaurant and retired from Victory Supermarket.

She was married to Harry J. Romano for 57 years before his passing in 2012. She is survived by her children, Karen Wholey of Sandwich MA, Jo-Anne Melanson and her husband Ronnie of Townsend MA, and Rosemary Doyle and her husband Charles of Leominster MA.

Mary treasured time with her family especially her grandchildren Samantha & Erin Doyle, Daniela Wholey Monaghan and Timothy Wholey.

She was a life long member of St. Anthony’s Parish, Fitchburg MA. She was an active member of the Madonna Della Cava Society. In her younger years she was a Child of Mary.

Mary enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. As well as playing cards with friends. She was a fabulous cook.

She was happiest when she was with her family.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Harry J. Romano, her mother and father, her brothers Joseph, Paul, James & Santo DiPerri, and her son in law Daniel J. Wholey.

A funeral Mass for Mary will be held on Thursday, January 4,2024 @ 11a.m. in St. Anthony De Padua Church 84 Salem St. Fitchburg, MA with Interment to follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Fitchburg. A calling hour will be held on Thursday morning at the funeral home from  9:30 until 10:30 a.m. All friends and relatives are welcome to attend.
