Obituary

Fitchburg: Mildred L.Kronick, Abare, (Bona) 84 of Fitchburg, MA passed away peacefully in Health Alliance – Leominster Hospital on Saturday, January 22,2022 with her daughter Lynne at her side.

She was born January 3, 1938, in East Boston, the daughter of Daniel and Mildred (Martel) Bona. She has lived in Fitchburg, MA most of her life. Mildred worked in the machine shop at Simonds Saw & Steel Co. in Fitchburg for over 25 years (retiring in 2003) and then as a bus monitor for First Student Bus Co. for 10 years. Mildred enjoyed going to the movies& dinner with her best friend Joan, and attended St. Bernard Parish, and St. Anthony di Padua Church. She most enjoyed her time with all her grand and great grandchildren and was affectionately known as Gigi or Grandma Sophia.

She is survived by her daughters: Elizabeth A. Prince of Greenville, NH, and Lynne M. Cole and her husband Daniel of Fitchburg, MA.Sons: Christopher S. Kronick and wife Helena in New Port Richey, Florida, and Michael D. Kronick and wife Amanda in Galion, Ohio. Grandchildren: Jeremy, Danny, Lana, Beth, Julian, Bradley, Tyler, Jordan, twins Matthew and Amanda, and Kendall. Great grandchildren: Keighley, Richie, Joshua, Tommy, Jacob, Gracie, Rhiannon, and Keegan, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Julius J.Kronick and 4 brothers: William, Edward, Robert and Daniel.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 10am in St. Bernard Parish @ St. Camillus de Lellis Church, 333 Mechanic St. Fitchburg, MA and all are invited to attend. Her burial will take place in St. Bernard Cemetery at a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory can be made to the ASPCA.
