Nancy L. (Hill) Peters

Nancy L. Peters, 87 , of 144 Monadnock St Gardner., died peacefully at The Highlands Life Care Center after a long illness. Her son tom and his wife Debra were at her side.

Born January 16 1935, in Gardner, she was the daughter of John and Mildred{O'Day} Hill and lived in several surrounding towns before moving back to Gardner in 2001. She was a graduate of Fitchburg High School Class of 1953.

She worked at Boutwell Owens for over 30 + years before she retired several years ago.

Nancy loved both her family and her church family. She enjoyed family get together's and reunions, trips to NJ to visit with her brother John's family and to Texas to visit with her sister's Connie's family. She belonged to The First Baptist Church of Fitchburg for most of her adult life. She was the official "Greeter". She taught Sunday school and was a Deacon for many years. Always ready to lend a hand for church Fairs and fellowship time.

She had many hobbies such as reading, doing puzzles, baking, crocheting, square dancing and spending time with family.

Both her husband's George J Cross, and Homer A. Peters predeceased her. She leaves her only son
George Thomas Cross and his wife Debra of Gardner, a step daughter, Lynn M. Adams of Athol and two stepsons Kenneth H Peters and Steven J. Peters (both Deceased), a sister Beverly Lamoureux who predeceased her, sister Connie Jones and her husband Jimmy of Bastrop Texas, a  brother John Hill and his wife Carol of Red Banks NJ, 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-greanchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Saturday, February 12,2022 from10 to 11 am at The First Baptist Church 1400 John Fitch Highway followed by a prayer service beginning at 11a.m.. All are welcome to attend.

Flowers or Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Memorial Fund, 1400 John Fitch Highway, Fitchburg 01420.

Burial will be private in New Cemetery , Ashburnham, MA  at a later date this spring.
