Nora Claire Peterson, 94, of Leominster, MA passed away Thursday, April 6 at Life Center of Leominster after a long illness.
She was born July 10, 1928 in Fitchburg daughter of Joseph and Eglatine (Marien) Pearson and was raised in Fitchburg where she attended and graduated from St. Bernard’s High School. She lived her entire life in Fitchburg before moving to Leominster in 2020.
Claire, as she was known, worked for over twenty-five years for the Fitchburg School Department as a school secretary. She retired in 1991. She always looked forward to taking daily rides in the countryside with her late husband George to view nature at its best. She is survived by her son Mark and his wife Liza (Lemoine) Peterson and granddaughters Brittany and Olivia. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, George, who passed away in 2019, her sisters Louise Shaw and Yvonne Pearson, and brother Albert Pearson.
A private family funeral service will be held on Friday, April 21 2023 in Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon, MA.. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
