Norman J. Cormier

Gardner: Norman J. Cormier, 83 of Gardner, MA  passed away peacefully on July 9,2024 in Gardner Rehab & Nursing with his loving husband Linwood, and Norman's family at his side; 

He was born in Fitchburg, MA on August 21,1940, the son of the late Eric J. and Leona M Cormier. He is survived by his husband Linwood LeCates Jr. and his brother Robert Cormier and his wife Carol all of Gardner, MA.

Norman & Linny spent 50 + years together and were married 3 yrs ago to seal their relationship of many years.

Norman attended St. Bernard's Central Catholic High School. His first job was at the former Anwelt Shoe in Fitchburg. He then worked many years at Foster Grant  Sunglasses in Leominster, MA and then went to work at the former Hunter Sportswear also in Leominster, MA. His last and final job was at K-Mart in Fitchburg, MA  where he retired .. After retiring, Norman and Linny traveled extensively to Boston, Cape Cod, New York City, Delaware,and California visiting friends. He loved reading, especially politics, and city and state issues.  They visited their nieces in Palm Desert, CA and were taken to may exciting venues. Both Norman and Linwood  loved live theater, plays, musicals, and visited many historical sites together. 

Norman had a great sense of humor and had a quick wit. He will be sadly missed by his friends and relatives.

At his request all services and burial will be private. There were no calling hours.
