                                              Obituary Notice

       South Carolina:  It is with great sadness that Georgette( Fournier) Poirier, Christine (Poirier)  Dupuis, Richard Poirier, Denis Poirier, and our families, announce the passing of our husband/Dad, Normand Poirier on April 25 , 2024 in South Carolina.

He was born December 17,1941, the son of William Calixte Poirier and Margerite (Bessette) Poirier and was raised in Fitchburg.

Normand was a resident of Fitchburg, MA most of his life before moving  to Surfside Beach, South Carolina. He along with his wife Georgette, owned and operated Norm’s Discount in Fitchburg, MA, for 43 years.  Normand loved to dance, was an avid card player, Team Shuffle  Board, and was a “die hard” Red Sox , and Patriots fan. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge in South Carolina.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Georgette, their children, Christine and husband Michael Dupuis, Richard Poirier, and Denis and his wife Amilia (Rey) Poirier, his grandchildren, Nicole, Ava, Sophia, Aerial and Richard Jr.. He was predeceased by his grandson Tyler Dupuis, and brothers, Donald , C. Leo and Richard Poirier.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Normand on Wednesday, October 9,2024 @ 10a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church 81 Sheridan St. Fitchburg, MA with Inurnment to follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. All relatives and friends are welcome to attend. There are no calling hours.
